Editorial policy
Rising Stage Journal aims to explain performance choices clearly and fairly. We distinguish what can be observed from what is interpretation, and correct errors when they are identified.
Accuracy and context
Articles are written to make their central point checkable and understandable. We use precise language, explain theatre terms where needed and avoid unsupported claims about a production, performer or tradition. When a subject has more than one reasonable interpretation, we make that clear rather than passing preference off as fact.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are kept distinct from partnership arrangements. Any paid, supplied or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can tell what it is. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial control.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update material when a correction is warranted; changes should make the record clearer, not conceal a substantive revision.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI tools. Illustrations are used to support an article, not as evidence of a real production, person or event. Where an image could be mistaken for documentary material, its illustrative status should be made clear.
